Hailing from the Heart of Dixie , Hunter Lawley has established himself as one of Alabama's most entertaining musicians. It is a trying task to nail his sound to any particular genre. He's country infused, with a rockabilly attitude and can rock with the best rock musicians.
His inspirational song, "Walk On" will be featured on the "Rage Against the Wind" tornado relief album. Hunter was contacted by RATW executive producer, Daniel L. Bamberg about appearing on the album and graciously hopped on board, allowing Bamberg to select from a variety of HLB originals.
"Hunter's work is exactly as advertised," said Bamberg. "He is a blue collar musician, and by that I mean a working/career musician. This is his job and he seems very dedicated to the integrity of live performance. I am thrilled to have him on this album. There were some other great tracks he submitted but 'Walk On' is a perfect blend of the ingredients I hear in Hunter's music. It also fits this cause perfectly."
As a full time artist, Hunter Lawley has wowed audience all over the southeast, opening for acts such as Cross Canadian Ragweed, Eric Church, BlackBerry Smoke and Tony Joe White. Playing in some of the biggest venues in the country, such as Workplay Theatre, The War Eagle Supper Club and The Flora-Bama, he captivates crowds with his energetic performance and unmatchable stage presence.
In March of 2007, Hunter released his first album "The Living Room Sessions" featuring the underground hit "Big Daddy's on His Way". After 3 years, he decided it was time to tackle a new project. With help from music veteran Michael Panepento (The Temptations, Brother Kane) Hunter set out to make a new EP. In 2010, he released his sophomore album "graysville". Already gaining momentum and becoming a fan favorite, this album is being praised all over the southeast.
Believing in the old school teachings of music, Hunter has earned his fans one show at a time. Playing almost 300 shows a year he has put in the leg work and man hours to be considered a certified American Troubadour. His original music makes quite an impact with songs sprouting from the roots of Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson and his comedic songs leaving the audience in stitches. Every show is sure to be entertaining and a fun filled experience that touches on every emotion. Hunter Lawley hits close to home and reminds audiences of a simpler way of life.
The Hunter Lawley Band regrets that they will not be performing at the Free Benefit concert. Hunter is such a busy musician that he and his band are booked way in advance. Intially Bamberg and Lawley thought it possible to squeeze the band into a timeslot sandwhiced between 2 HLB gigs which were previously scheduled.
"What you would be looking at in that scenario is the band rushing set up, getting on stage, and playing about 3 songs before having no choice but to leave," said Bamberg "Even that would only become possible if nothing went wrong. If there was the slightest delay, the effort of Hunter's appearance would not be worth it for anyone. As anyone who has ever worked in music knows, you can't count on much, but you can always count on something go wrong. That band is far too professional to be placed in such a rushed situation. Hunter has been extremely gracious to this cause and if we do another show, as planned he is ready if we can find a date around his very busy schedule."
